Everything’s Better in Leather

DSC_1380

OH. THANK. HEAVENS…Y’ALL I can wear boots again. And Leather. And Plaid. Aka, I am now the happiest girl alive. Scratch that, I’ll be the happiest when the Cardinals win the world series again this year, but we don’t have to talk about just yet. Fall means oh so many wonderful things:  Dropping temperatures, oktoberfests, playoff baseball, Saturday tailgates, college football, Halloween, MY BIRTHDAY … to name a few. One thing I miss about the Midwest is how quickly the temperature drops when fall arrives! Well, now that I am back, it has definitely not disappointed. God bless you, St. Louis.

Hello Fall?

tibi fall

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale consistently marks the time during the summer that my attention and attraction move from sandals and sundresses to jeans and jackets — aka everything fall.  It just feels like something new and exciting is around the corner, even though we have this season every.single.year. September –> November months are my favorite, not only because my birthday falls in the fall { LOL }, but the weather and the football and the food and the fashion and… did I mention the weather? Fall is simply perfection.

It does not help that pre-fall collections start arriving in all of my favorite stores, online shops, and blogs.   I know I may be jumping the gun, but I have recently been trying to get a head start on decking out my closet for fall, usually sweating during the process as I try on sweaters, jeans, and boots in 100 degree weather.

I’m currently attempting to hold myself back from buying these to see if they are on greater discount at Nordstrom  (5 days until I can shop…5 days….). Continually seeing my beautiful friend Katie rock her denim vest is not helping my situation either, as I can totally see a vest like hers helping me transition into the cooler weather (this and this are great J Brand alternatives on sale right now…help). And, of course, what would fall be without Rag & Bone boots.

It’s called self-control, Sarah….and patience :: Two qualities that I obviously lack when it comes to a new wardrobe season.

Red October

Few things elate my heart like the arrival of autumn, namely OCTOBER! Not only does it hold a special place in my heart due to it being my birthday month, but in October, my world takes on a shade of RED.

1. The heart of college football season

Georgia Red Out game

2.Postseason baseball

3. red hues of changing leaves.

…yeahhhh i wish i had taken that picture.

So, to keep up with the changing of seasons, I have to change up my outfits as well. Naturally, I chose to purchase, yep you guessed it, RED.

Enjoy the smell of fall and the color that’s about to burst onto the scene. While Christmas is great and all, I truly believe that AUTUMN is the most wonderful time of the year.
